Sesame Eyes Thompson Gray TCF Format As Blueprint

Thomson Gray has achieved top marks for its treating customers fairly (TCF) procedure from network Sesame, which now wants to use the firm as a blueprint for how to implement TCF effectively.

Sesame tested the Northampton-based firm on six categories including attitude, professionalism, quality of advice and remuneration and reward, and awarded A grades for each.

It was so impressed by Thomson Gray that it asked to take a copy of the TCF procedure to use with other members.

The firm’s director, Sean Gray, praised the work of his staff and Steve Champion (pictured) of Inspired Consulting who helped to improve the firm’s processes.

‘We started work on the processes two years ago and didn’t aim to tick TCF boxes but we ended up doing so. It is a great credit to the staff who have implemented the changes day-to-day,’ said Gray.

Ian McKenzie, Sesame head of account management, said A grades were unusual. ‘Where a firm has a good practice then with their permission we take it on and use it to help others. That is one of the benefits of being in a network – people can share information,’ he said.

Sesame has invested £2 million into TCF support for members.
